• • 160 g LikeMeat Veggie Beef Style
• 2 garlic cloves, sliced
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 1 pinch sugar
• 2 tbsp tomato purée
• 120 g brown mushrooms, halved
• 6 shallots, halved
• 1 carrot, sliced
• 2 sprigs of time or 1 tbsp oregano, chopped
• 2 tsp fennel seeds, crushed
• 2 bay leaves
• 200 ml full-bodied red wine
• Parsley or chervil, chopped

Heat the olive oil, sugar, garlic and tomato purée in a pan for 1 minute. Add the Veggie Beef Style and fry over a higher heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring continuously. Quickly fry the mushrooms over a high heat. Place the mushrooms in a bowl, leaving the fat in the pan and add a little olive oil.
Add the shallots to the pan and reduce the heat. Add the carrot slices, fennel seeds, thyme or oregano and the bay leaves. Cover the pan and allow to simmer for at least 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the red wine and bring the vegetables to the boil, simmering for approx. 10 minutes until soft. Add the mushrooms for the last few minutes.
Serve with chopped parsley or fresh chervil. Goes well with a side serving of potato purée.
